Hong Kong-based content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited has announced on Friday that they will simulcast fantasy anime Gibiate on their Ani-One platform this Summer 2020 season.

The company also announced that the upcoming comedy anime Umayon will also stream on their streaming platform on a simulcast basis starting Tuesday, July 7.

Gibiate is an upcoming original anime series produced by Yoshitaka Amano, who is well known as the character designer of the popular sci-fi mecha anime Gatchaman.

The upcoming anime will be directed by Masahiko Komino, who was the chief animation director of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders series, while BONJOUR Sweet Love Patisserie scriptwriter Ryo Aoki handling the series composition.

The upcoming anime will be jointly-produced by Lunch Box and Studio Elle, with Amano credited for the original character designs.

Umayon is an upcoming comedy anime series based on the four-panel manga series, which is a spinoff of the comedy manga and anime series Uma Musume Pretty Derby.

The spinoff manga is written by Jin Ito and illustrations by Jet Kuma, and currently published in Cycomics’ Cycomi magazine since March 2018.

The upcoming anime series will be directed by Seiya Miyajima, who previously worked in BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico comedy spinoff anime, which will be jointly produced by DMM.futureworks and W-Toon Studio.

The cast members of the Uma Musume Pretty Derby will reprise the roles in the spinoff series, including Azumi Waki (as Special Week), Akari Kito (as Seiun Sky), Iori Saeki (as King Halo), Minami Takahashi (as El Condor Pasa) and Rena Maeda (as Grass Wonder) who also performed the anime’s theme song “Pyoitto Hareruya!”.


In addition to the two simulcast anime titles, MediaLink Entertainment also announced that the detective comedy anime series The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited will restart its simulcast streaming this Summer 2020 season.

The anime was initially part of the Spring 2020 season, but was pulled out after two episodes and its third episode delayed due to production issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first episode will be replayed on July 17, while new episodes will start streaming weekly, starting July 31.

The Millionaire Detective Balance: UNLIMITED is an anime series based on the 1978 mystery novel series “Fugou Keiji” by Yasutaka Tsutsui, creator of the popular series The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Paprika.

The anime series is directed by Tomohiko Ito, who also worked the popular anime series Sword Art Online, while Haikyuu!! scriptwriter Taku Kishimoto handles the series composition.

Keigo Sasaki, who previously worked in Blue Exorcist and ERASED, handles the character deisgns, which is being produced by CloverWorks.

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Mamoru Miyano, who voiced “Osamu Dazai” in the popular anime Bungo Stray Dogs, portraying the role of “Kato” and Yusuke Onuki, in his voice acting debut, portraying the role of “Daisuke Kanbe”.
