Hong Kong-based content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited has announced on Friday that they are postponing the simulcast streaming of The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited anime series.

The postponement comes a day after the anime’s official website announced on Thursday that the airing of its third episode will be delayed until further notice due to COVID-19, and its future broadcasting schedule will be announced at a later date.

Aniplex of America, the North American licensor of the anime series, also confirmed the postponement and its simulcast streaming in the region.

Daisuke Kambe, the heir to one of the wealthiest families in Japan, works as a detective in the Modern Crime Prevention Task Force (MCPTF), where officers who caused problems in the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department are sent as punishment. Haru Kato, a kindhearted detective, is selected to be Daisuke’s partner. Daisuke judges everything by its monetary value, even human lives.

The Millionaire Detective Balance: UNLIMITED is an anime series based on the 1978 mystery novel series “Fugou Keiji” by Yasutaka Tsutsui, creator of the popular series The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Paprika.

The anime series is directed by Tomohiko Ito, who also worked the popular anime series Sword Art Online, while Haikyuu!! scriptwriter Taku Kishimoto handles the series composition.

Keigo Sasaki, who previously worked in Blue Exorcist and ERASED, handles the character deisgns, which is being produced by CloverWorks.

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Mamoru Miyano, who voiced “Osamu Dazai” in the popular anime Bungo Stray Dogs, portraying the role of “Kato” and Yusuke Onuki, in his voice acting debut, portraying the role of “Daisuke Kanbe”.

 

 

MediaLink Entertainment is streaming The Millionaire Detective Balance: UNLIMITED, together with three other titles, on their Ani-One platform on a simulcast basis this Spring 2020 season.

The first episode was streamed on the platform last Friday, April 10.
