Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced on Wednesday that the upcoming mystery series Woodpecker Detective’s Office will air on a simulcast basis this Spring 2020 season.
The upcoming show will premiere on April 14, airing every Tuesdays at 08:30pm PHT, same day as Japan. Same-day encore telecast at 11:30pm PHT.

Woodpecker Detective’s Office is an upcoming anime adaptation of a Japanese mystery novel written by Kei Li, which was released in 1999.
Shinpei Ezaki, director of sci-fi action anime Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation, serves as the upcoming anime’s chief director with Tomoe Makino serving as its director, while ERASED scriptwriter Taku Kishimoto handled the series composition.
Shuichi Hara, who previously worked in My Bride is a Mermaid and Maid Sama!, handled the character designs, which will be produced by LIDEN FILMS.
The Japanese voice cast will be lead by Shintaro Asanuma (“Junichi Hashiba”, Hajimete no Gal) as “Takuboku Ishikawa” and Takahiro Sakurai (“Villar Constance”, Record of Grancrest War) as “Kyosuke Kindaichi”.
Woodpecker Detective’s Office will be ANIMAX Asia’s second simulcast title for the Spring 2020 season.
The anime channel previously announced the simulcast airing of My Next Life As A Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, which is set to premiere on April 5, within the same day as Japan.
