Singapore-based anime licensor ODEX has announced on Friday that they plan to release the latest anime film adaptation of the Digimon franchise in 2020.
Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna is set to be released in Southeast Asian countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines.
The anime film is set to be released in Japanese cinemas on Friday, February 21, 2020.

Digimon Adventure: Last Adventure Kizuna is an upcoming anime film adaptation of the popular Digimon franchise, set in continuity of the original Digimon Adventure anime series, which features the original lead characters Taichi Yagami and Agumon.
The upcoming film will be set five years after the Digimon Adventure tri. storyline, with Toei Animation teasing as “Taichi and Agumon’s final adventure”.
The latest film will be a part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the popular franchise.

The Digital World and the human world have faced crisis after crisis. During the everyday life between dealing with those crises, clues to the way humans and Digimon could coexist had begun to appear.
Taichi and friends are now college students, and they gather together as once again, strange events occur all around the world. And now, the end of their long adventure that began in the summer of 1999 has drawn near.
This is the last adventure of Taichi Yagami, Agumon, and friends, not long before the DigiDestined become adults.
Tomohisa Taguchi, who previously directed Twin Star Exorcists, will direct the upcoming anime film, while Digimon Adventure scriptwriter Akatsuki Yamatoya returned to handle the screenplay.
Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, the character designer of several Digimon anime adaptations, also returns to work on the anime film, which will be produced by Yumeta Company and Toei Animation.
Natsuki Hanae, who portrayed the lead character “Taichi Yagami” in the Digimon Adventure tri. film series, and Chika Sakamoto, who played “Agumon” in the original television series, will return to portay their respective roles.
They will also be joined by Yoshimasa Hosoya, Suzuko Mimori, Mutsumi Tamura, Hitomi Yoshida, Mayumi Yamaguchi, Atori Shigematsu and Junko Takeuchi among others.
