It had been nearly 1,000 years since all the magic in the world disappeared, and most people had forgotten it ever existed. Kohinata Mangetsu is a cheerful high school student who has a pretty positive outlook on life, but she has nothing to call her own — Because she wasn’t good at academics or sports, she dreamed of having something she was good at. On a night where the full moon was shining brightly, she happens to meet another girl with the character for “moon” in her name named Shingetsu Ernesta Fukami. That was also when she encountered the mechanical dolls called “ARMANOX.” (Synopsis from Crunchyroll)

Granbelm is an original mecha anime series produced by animation studio Nexus, which was aired in Japan during the Summer season this year.

The series was directed by Masaharu Watanabe, who previously directed the popular isekai anime series Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, while the veteran scriptwriter Jukki Hanada handled the series composition, and Kei Imanaka handled character designs.

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Miyuri Shimabukuro (“Yuuna Yunohana”, Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs) as “Mangetsu Kohinata” and Atsumi Tanezaki (“Chise Hatori”, The Ancient Magus’ Bride) as “Shingetsu Ernesta Fukami”.

Granbelm premieres on December 10, airing every Monday and Tuesday at 10:00pm PHT, two episodes back-to-back.
