ANIPLUS Asia to simulcast “Kemono Michi: Rise Up” anime series this Autumn 2019

DRAMAtical Murder anime director Kazuya Miura and scriptwriter Touko Machida reunite to work on the anime series.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Wednesday that they will air the isekai comedy anime Kemono Michi: Rise Up on a simulcast basis this Autumn 2019 season.

The new show starts on October 6, airing every Sundays at 11:30pm PHT, within the same week as Japan. Encore telecast on Tuesdays at 12:00am PHT.

Kemono Michi: Rise Up is an anime adaptation of a Japanese comedy manga series by Natsume Akatsuki, which is being illustrated by Mo-suke Mattaku and Yumeuta.

Akatsuki is also known for creating the popular isekai comedy manga series KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!!, while Mattaku and Yumeuta both handled art for the popular light novel Baka and Test – Summon the Beasts.

The manga is being published in Kadokawa Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Ace magazine since November 2016, which currently has four (4) volumes.

ANIPLUS Asia has described the upcoming anime’s story:

The strongest masked wrestler, Kemona Mask aka Genzo Shibata, is summoned to another world to slay monsters. But the animal-loving Genzo refuses!

His true dream is to own a pet shop and be surrounded by animals. Will Genzo successfully lead his glamorous life in another world?!

 

DRAMAtical Murder director Kazuya Miura and scriptwriter Touko Machida reunite to work on the anime series.

Tomoka Noumi, who worked in key animation on several Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma anime adaptations, handles the show’s character designs, which will be produced by ENGI.

Katsuyuki Konishi, who previously played “Tatsumi Oga” in the popular sci-fi comedy anime Beelzebub, will play the lead character “Genzo Shibata”, also known by his wrestling persona “Kemona Mask”.

 

Kemono Michi: Rise Up will be ANIPLUS Asia’s fourth simulcast title for the Autumn 2019 season.

The anime channel previously announced the simulcast airing of the second season of Granblue Fantasy: The Animation on October 4, Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious on October 2, and Assassins Pride on October 10.
