Global streaming line-up Netflix has added eight more Japanese anime titles to their streaming line-up this month, including Eromanga Sensei and the first season of Attack on Titan.

Subscribers of the streaming service in the Philippines can also watch Katsugeki Touken Ranbu, Ergo Proxy, Seraph of the End, Hellsing Ultimate, When They Cry and Tsuredure Children starting Thursday.

 

Katsugeki Touken Ranbu

Katsugeki TOUKEN RANBU is the second anime adaptation based on the highly-popular collectible card browser game Touken Ranbu, which was developed by visual novel studio Nitroplus and published by DMM Games in June 2015.

The series was directed by Toshiyuki Shirai, who worked on several roles in Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works television series, which was produced by ufotable.

The Japanese voice cast was lead by Kento Hama as “Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki” and
Ryohei Kimura as “Izuminokami Kanesada”.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia previously aired the title on a simulcast basis in the Summer 2017 season.

Ergo Proxy

Ergo Proxy is a sci-fi suspense anime series, which was directed by Shukou Murase, who previously worked in the supernatural mystery anime Witch Hunter Robin and several Mobile Suit Gundam titles.

Dai Sato, who previously worked as scriptwriter of Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell, handled series composition, while Sol Bianca animator Naoyuki Onda handled character designs, which was produced by the defunct animation studio Manglobe.

The Japanese voice casts were lead by Akiko Yajima as “Pino”, Koji Yusa as “Vincent Law” and Rie Saitou as “Real Mayar”.

Seraph of the End

Seraph of the End is an anime adaptation of a manga series, written by Takaya Kagami and illustrated by Yamato Yamamoto, which is being published in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine since September 2012 and currently has 12 volumes.

The anime adaptation was directed by Daisuke Tokudo, who previously worked in several episodes of Guilty Crown, while Attack on Titan scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko handled series composition. Character designs were handled by Satoshi Kadowaki, who also handled several episodes of Guilty Crown, which was produced by Wit Studio.

The Japanese voice cast were lead by Miyu Irino as “Yuichiro Hyakuya” and Kensho Ono as “Mikaela Hyakuya”.

Hellsing Ultimate

Hellsing Ultimate is the original video animation based on the manga series by Kouta Hirano, which was serialized in Shonen Gahosha’s Young King OURs magazine from 1997 to 2008 with a total of 10 volumes.

The OVA series was directed by Tomokazu Tokoro (Eps. 1-4), Hiroyuki Tanaka (Eps. 5-7, 9-10) and Yasuhiro Matsumura (Ep. 8), while veteran scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda handled series composition, and Cyberteam in Akihabara animation director Ryoji Nakamori handled character designs.

The Japanese voice casts were lead by Jouji Nakata as “Alucard” and Fumiko Orikasa as “Seras Victoria”.

When They Cry

When They Cry, also known by its Japanese title “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni”, is the first anime adaptation of a murder mystery visual novel game by 07th Expansion, which was released in 2002.

The first season was directed by Chiaki Kon, who previously worked as episode director of Super GAL!, while The Law of Ueki scriptwriter Toshifumi Kawase handled series composition. Kyuta Sakai, who previously worked in Zoids Genesis, handled character designs, which was produced by Studio DEEN.

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Soichiro Hoshi as “Keiichi Maebara”, together with Mai Nakahara, Yukari Tamura, Mika Kanai and Satsuki Yukino.

Tsuredure Children

Tsuredure Children is an anime adaptation of a manga series by Toshiya Wakabayashi, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from 2014 to 2019 with a total of 12 volumes.

The anime adaptation was directed by Hiraku Kaneko, who handled the animation for the popular romance anime Honey and Clover, while Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai) scriptwriter Tatsuhiko Urahata handled the series composition. Etsuko Sumimoto, who worked on the anime Yurikuma Arashi, handled the anime’s character designs, which was produced by Studio Gokumi.

The Japanese voice casts for the series include Kana Hanazawa, Kohei Amasaki, Ayane Sakura, and Kensho Ono.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia previously aired the title on a simulcast basis in the Summer 2017 season.

Eromanga Sensei is an anime adaptation of a romantic comedy light novel series, written by Tsukasa Fushimi and illustrated by Hiro Kanzaki, which is published by Kadokawa’s ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko imprint since December 2013 and currently has eight volumes.

The anime adaptation was directed by Ryohei Takeshita, who previously worked in Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun anime series, while The Idolm@ster scriptwriter Tatsuya Takahashi handled the series composition. Hiroyuki Oda adapted Kanzaki’s original character designs, which was produced by A-1 Pictures.

The Japanese voice cast were lead by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as “Masamune Izumi” and Akane Fujita as “Sagiri Izumi”.

Attack on Titan is an anime adaptation of a dark fantasy manga series by Hajime Isayama, which has been running in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine since September 2009 and currently has 29 volumes.

The first season was directed by Tetsuro Araki, who previously worked on High School of the Dead, while Shakugan no Shana scriptwriter Yasuko Kobayashi handles the series composition. Kyoji Asano, who previously worked as the animation director of the popular Ghost in the Shell anime series, handled character designs, which is being produced by Wit Studio.

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Yuuki Kaji as “Eren Jaeger”, Yui Ishikawa as “Mikasa Ackerman” and Marina Inoue as “Armin Arlelt”.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia aired the first season in December 2013, while its succeeding seasons were aired on a simulcast basis.
