Japanese entertainment channel GEM TV Asia has announced that they will simulcast the upcoming Japanese drama adaptation of Voice this Summer 2019 season.
The upcoming series will premiere on July 15, airing every Mondays at 10:00pm PHT, within 48 hours after its Japanese telecast.
Shogo Higuchi is a detective whose wife was murdered by a serial killer. Hikari Tachibana is a voice profiler whose father was murdered. She has a special hearing ability which allows her to hear minutiae sounds that other people do not.
Victims in criminal cases call #110 which is connected to the emergency control room. To save people as quickly as possible, an investigation “emergency call response unit” is formed. Hikari Tachibana works in the emergency control room and gathers location information from callers with her special hearing ability. She passes on the information to Detective Shogo Higuchi in the emergency call response unit. Detective Shogo Higuchi then goes out with his team to save the victims. Voice, also known as “Voice: 110 Kinkyu Shireishitsu”, is an upcoming Japanese drama adaptation of the 2017 Korean drama series with the same name, which was written by Ma Jin-Won, directed by Kim Hong-Sun and starred by Jang Hyuk and Lee Ha-Na.
The upcoming adaptation will be written by Hideya Hamada, who previously worked on Absolute Zero: Special Investigation Unit, while the team of Taro Otani and Mitsuru Kubota will handle the series direction.
Voice will be lead by Toshiaki Karasawa, who played “Soichiro Hasumi” of the Japanese remake of the American drama The Good Wife, will portray detective “Shogo Higuchi” and Yoko Maki, who played “Jung-Hwa (Shizuka)” in the film Yakiniku Dragon, will portray voice profiler “Hikari Tachibana”.
The upcoming series will also be joined by Takahisa Masuda, who is part of the Japanese boy band NEWS, who will play Hasumi’s junior “Toru Ishikawa”.
GEM TV Asia is available on SKYcable Channel 116 in Metro Manila, CAMANAVA, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan and Lipa City (Batangas) / Channel 222 in Bacolod, Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Dumaguete and General Santos City (South Cotabato), and GSat Channel 57.
