Events organizer Cosplay.ph has announced on Tuesday that they are bringing back Japanese stage actor Kousuke Asuma to the Philippines for their flagship event Cosplay Mania ’19.
He will join previously announced stage actor guest Allen Kohatsu as one of this year’s special guest. Both Kohatsu and Asuma are cast members of Hyper Projection Play “Haikyuu!!”, playing the characters “Hajime Iwaizumi” and “Toru Oikawa” respectively.
This will be the second time Asuma will be in the country to be a part of the popular Japanese pop-culture event, with last year being joined by fellow cast member Hiroki Ino.
Kosuke Asuma’s role in the Haikyuu!! stage play was his debut in 2015, and he has since portrayed other stage play acts including “Otojirou Kawakami” in Kageki Meikoi, and “Gin Ichimaru” in Rock Musical Bleach in 2016.
His latest stage play roles include “Ryouhei Asagiri” in Railway and “Rui Sasamori” in Tougenkyou Labyrinth.
Aside from the two stage actor guests, Cosplay Mania ’19 will also feature Japanese pop rock band MYTH & ROID, music producer Yasutaka Nakata, and singers Asaka and May’n for the JAM Concert.
In addition, the event will also host Japanese cosplayer duo VENaS Japan, and Singaporean cosplayers REA KAMI and BoiledCurry.
More special guests and musical performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets for Silver and Gold tiers are now on sale at smtickets.com, while VIP ticket availability will be announced at a later date.
