Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia has revealed to Anime Pilipinas that the Second Season of the romantic comedy anime Real Girl will premiere next month.
The anime will premiere on May 22, airing every Wednesday nights at 08:00pm (07:00pm JKT/BKK), two episodes back-to-back.
Encore telecast on the same night at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT/BKK).
The popular Iroha Igarashi and reclusive Hikari Tsutsui continue to navigate the tumultuous waters of young love and what it means to be true to yourself. As their relationship grows and deepens, new and difficult challenges threaten to break them apart. Real Girl is an anime adaptation of a romantic comedy manga by Mao Nanami, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Dessert magazine from July 2011 to May 2016.
The manga series has released a total of 12 volumes.
The anime adaptation was directed by Takashi Naoya, who previously worked on popular anime shows like The Pet Girl of Sakurasou and A Certain Scientific Railgun S, while Arakawa Under the Bridge scriptwriter Deko Akao handled the series composition.
Character designs were handled by Satomi Kurita, which was produced by Hoods Entertainment.
The Japanese voice cast was lead by Teppei Uenishi as “Hikaru Tsutsui”, and Yuu Serizawa (“Yumemi Yumemite”, Kakegurui) as “Iroha Igarashi”.
ANIMAX Asia aired the first season of the romantic comedy anime in September last year.
The anime channel will continue its Spring 2019 simulcast shows, The Helpful Fox Senko-san and the Second Season of One Punch Man, as well as the continuation of Fairy Tail: Final Series in May.
