
Global streaming service Netflix has started the new year with the addition of new titles on their Japanese anime line-up, which are the comedy anime Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs and sports anime Hanebado!

Kogarashi, a high school boy cursed with misfortune to see ghosts since birth, finds a haunted inn offering rent-free room to anyone able to exorcise a ghost. When the ghost turns out to be an innocent young girl, Kogarashi decides to help her move on rather than purify her. While he works on that, Kogarashi is pulled into the paranormal hijinks of the other residents of the inn and even his new schoolmates. (Synopsis from Anime News Network)
Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs is an anime adaptation of a manga series by Tadahiro Miura, which is being published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since February 2016. The manga currently has 13 volumes.
The anime adaptation was directed by Tsuyoshi Nagasawa, who previously worked in the comedy anime Nyaruko: Crawling with Love!, while Three Leaves, Three Colors scriptwriter Hideaki Koyasu handled the series composition.
Kyoko Taketani, chief animation director of Oreca Battle, handled the character designs, which was produced by anime studio Xebec.
The Japanese voice cast were lead by Yuuki Ono (“Taiga Kagami”, Kuroko’s Basketball) as “Kogarashi Fuyuzora” and Miyuri Shimabukuro (“Narumi Toi”, Harukana Recieve) as “Yuuna Yunohana”.
Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs is available in Japanese audio, which can be viewed in English or Simplified and Traditional Chinese subtitles. Available to subscribers in most territories in Asia.

Nagisa Aragaki is the strict captain of the badminton club at Kitokomachi High School. After a crushing defeat in a tournament, Nagisa trains harder than ever; now fueled by her anger, torment, and fear that all her effort has been in vain. The arrival of two people at Kitokomachi change everything: Kentaro Tachibana and Hanesaki Ayano.
Kentaro, who had been selected to participate in the Olympics in the past, becomes the new coach. Hanesaki is the daughter of Uchika Shindo, one of the legends of badminton in Japan.

Hanebado! is an anime adaptation of a sports manga series by Kosuke Hamada, which is being published in Kodansha’s good! Afternoon magazine since 2013. The manga currently has 14 volumes.
The anime adaptation was directed by Shinpei Ezaki, who previously worked in Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation and Guilty Crown, while Silver Spoon scriptwriter Taku Kishimoto handled the series composition.
Satoshi Kimura, who previously worked in Terraformars anime series, handled the character designs, which was produced by LIDEN FILMS.
The Japanese voice cast were lead by Miyuri Shimabukuro (“Narumi Toi”, Harukana Recieve) as “Nagisa Aragaki” and Hitomi Ohwada (“Midori Imai” Shirobako) as “Ayano Hanesaki”.

The popular shonen anime series Naruto has also started streaming on Netflix in the Philippines, as well as several Asian countries, in the new year.
The streaming service has listed all 220 episodes of the first series, which are available in Japanese, English or Mandarin audio with English or Traditional Chinese subtitles.
