ANIMAX Asia to simulcast Date A Live’s third season this Winter 2019

Now-defunct anime channel HEROtv previously aired the first two seasons of the popular series.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced in a television advertisement on Friday that they will simulcast the third season of Date A Live this Winter 2019 season.

Date A Live III will air on January 11, airing every Friday nights at 10:00pm (09:00pm JKT/BKK), within two hours after the initial Japanese telecast.

Encore telecast every Saturday nights at 09:30pm (08:30pm JKT/BKK).

 

Date A Live III will be the third television anime series based on the light novel series, written by Koshi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako, which is being published by Fujimi Shobo’s Dragon Magazine, under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.

The light novel series has been running since March 2011, and currently has 19 volumes.

Some of the staffs from previous Date A Live television series, including director Keitaro Motonaga, scriptwriter Hideki Shirane and music director Go Sakabe, returned to work on the third season.

Koji Watanabe, who previously worked in the Digimon Adventure tri. movie series, will take over Satoshi Ishino’s role as the character designer, which will now be produced by J.C. Staff.

The previous voice casts, including Nobunaga Shimazaki (as Shido Itsuka) and Marina Inoue (as Tohka Yatogami), returned to work on the series, with the addition of Ayumi Mano (“Ayane Matsuura”, Tsuredure Children) as “Natsumi”.

 

 

Date A Live III will be the anime channel’s second simulcast title for the Winter 2019 season, in addition to the simulcast airing of the Second Season of Mob Psycho 100, which will premiere on Tuesday, January 8.

The simulcast airing of Fairy Tail: Final Series, which has started last October, will continue to air in the upcoming season.

 

The previous two seasons of Date A Live were aired on the now-defunct Filipino-language anime channel HEROtv, with the first season airing in February 2014 and the second season aired on January 2016.

The anime channel had cease broadcast in February of last year.
