Mob Psycho 100 is an anime adaptation of a Japanese web comic by ONE, which was serialized in Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday magazine from April 2012 to December 2017, which has a total of 16 volumes.

ONE is also known for creating the highly-popular action comedy series One Punch Man.

The first season of the series was premiered in July 2016, which was also aired by ANIMAX Asia on a simulcast basis.

The anime channel described the first season’s story:

Shigeo Kageyama, nicknamed Mob, is a youth who wants nothing more than a normal life. However, he actually possesses a very powerful ability. When his feelings reaches 100% capacity, he will “explode”. Because of that, he tries to suppress his emotions to keep his power under control. But he soon finds himself a topic of interest to religious groups and strange organizations. Will Mob be able to get the peaceful life he desires?

Staffs for the first season, including director Yuzuru Tachikawa, scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko, and character designer Yoshimichi Kameda, returned to work on the upcoming season, which will be produced by anime studio BONES.

The Japanese voice cast for the previous season, including Setsuo Ito (as Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama) and Takahiro Sakurai (as Arataka Reigen), also returned to portray their respective roles.

Mob Psycho 100 S2 will be one of the anime channel’s simulcast title for the Winter 2019 season, in addition to the simulcast airing of Fairy Tail: Final Series, which has been airing since October.

More anime titles are expected to be announced in the coming days.
