MNL48–the first-ever Filipina idol group formed via “It’s Showtime”–is releasing its debut single under Star Music this month entitled “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita,” the local version of the big hit “Aitakatta” performed by its sister group and Japan’s phenomenal musical act, AKB48.
“Aitakatta – Gustong Makita” will be part of MNL48’s debut album, also under Star Music, which is already in the works and wilt be launched in 2019.
The sing-and-dance group MNL48 was formed through the efForts of ABS-CBN and Hallohatlo Entertainment, with members carefully selected through the four-month talent search in “It’s Showtime.”
In the media conference held at Movie Stars Café in Quezon City, MNL48 gave a sneak oeekon the soon-to-be released music video for “Aitakatta.”
The video was shot in Intramuros and Manila Bay to showcase local historical places. It was inspired by the original music video of AKB48’s “Aitakatta – Gustong Makita,” aiming to show Filipinos what an idol really means.
