ANIMAX Asia to simulcast Phantom in the Twilight anime series

Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun also lined-up to premiere this month.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced that the upcoming anime series Phantom in the Twilight will air on a simulcast basis starting this month.

The show will premiere on July 9, airing Every Monday nights at 10:00pm (09:00pm JKT/BKK), with encore Every Saturday nights at 09:00pm (08:00pm JKT/BKK).

Phantom in the Twilight is an upcoming anime series jointly produced by Chinese game developer Happy Elements and Japanese animation studio Liden Films.

Kunihiro Mori, who previously worked on anime shows like Gyrozetter and Shonen Onmyouji will direct the upcoming anime, while Fumiaki Maruto and Shunsaku Yano will handle the scripts, and Megumi Yamashita will handle character designs.

Kana Hanazawa, known for voicing characters like “Kosaki Onodera” of Nisekoi and “Mayuri Shiina” of Steins;Gate, will portray the anime’s lead character Bayrou Ton.


Aside from Phantom of the Twilight, the anime channel is also set to premiere the slice-of-life comedy anime Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun on July 12.

The show will air back-to-back episodes Every Wednesday and Thursday nights 08:00pm (07:00pm JKT/BKK), with an encore at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT/BKK).

Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun is an anime adapatation of a manga series by Taku Sakamoto, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine from 2014 up to last January with a total of 11 volumes.

The anime was directed by Kazuya Ichikawa, who previously worked on Monster Strike the Animation and Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note, while Hozuki’s Coolheadedness scriptwriter Midori Gotou handled the series composition.

Character designs was made by Arisa Matsura, which was produced by TMS Entertainment.

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Ryotaro Okiayu (“Kunimitsu Tezuka”, The Prince of Tennis) as the title character “Aoyama-kun”, Tomokazu Seki (“Touya Kinomoto”, Cardcaptor Sakura) as “Kaoru Zaizen”, and Anzu Haruno (“Mafuyu Hoshikawa”, Blend S) as “Moka Goto”.
