ANIMAX Asia to simulcast ‘Cells at Work!’ anime series

Anime show about cells inside the human body to air starting next month.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced in a television advertisement that the upcoming comedy anime Cells at Work! will be airing on a simulcast basis this Summer 2018 season.

The show will premiere on July 8, airing Every Saturday nights at 08:30pm (07:30pm JKT/BKK), which is within 48 hours after the Japanese telecast.

Cells at Work! is an upcoming anime adaptation of a manga series, written and illustrated by Akane Shimizu, which is being published by Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine since March 2015. The manga currently has five (5) volumes.

 

The anime adaptation will be directed by Kenichi Suzuki, who previously worked in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime series, while Orange scriptwriter Yuuko Kakihara handles the series composition.

Takahiko Yoshida, who previously worked on the two seasons of Honey and Clover, handles character designs, with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable’s Kenta Mimuro working on cell character’s designs, which will be produced by David Production.

 

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Kana Hanazawa (“Kosaki Onodera”, Nisekoi – False Love) as “Red Blood Cell” (Erythrocite), and Tomoaki Maeno (“Naotsugu”, Log Horizon) as “White Blood Cell” (Neutrophil).

Mamiko Noto, who previously voiced characters in A Certain Magical Index (as Aisa Himegami) and Hanasaku Iroha (as Tomoe Wajima), will also serve as the show’s narrator.
