Detective Conan: Zero’s Executioner (Meitantei Conan Zero no Shikkonin) is the 22nd anime movie adaptation based on the highly-popular Detective Conan manga series by Gosho Aoyama, which has been publishing since January 1994 and currently has 94 volumes.

The upcoming movie will be the follow-up to the franchise’s 21st anime, Detective Conan: The Crimson Love Letter, which premiered in local cinemas July last year.

The anime movie will be directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa, who also directed the anime series Death Parade, while Takeharu Sakurai, who also worked in recent Detective Conan movie adaptations, will handle screenplay for the new movie.

The movie will be produced by TMS Entertainment and V1 Studio, and premiered in Japanese cinemas last April 13.

Minami Takayama has returned to portray the character “Conan Edogawa”.
