With the post-war population explosion resulting in a ferocious increase of evil spirits and the dead flooding to the netherworld, the understaffed Hell faces a chaos of unprecedented scale. Demon Ogre Hozuki – the remarkable chief deputy to the king of Hell, King Enma – tends to all manner of affairs in place of the lazy king. And so begins the busy everyday lives of Hozuki and the dead in the depths of Hell.

The Second Season of Hozuki’s Coolheadedness follows the antics and dark humor of the first season, which was adapted from a manga written and illustrated by Natsumi Eguchi. The manga is being published by Kodansha since March 2011, and currently has 25 volumes.

The First season was aired in January 2014, while the first part of the Second season aired on the channel in October 2017. Both were aired on ANIPLUS Asia as a part of their respective seasons.

Kazuhiro Yoneda, who previously directed Mahou Shoujo Nante Mouiidesukara, will continue handling the anime’s directorial role, while scriptwriter Midori Gotou will continue to work on the series.

The anime will now be produced by Studio DEEN, with Jiro Omatsuri handling its character designs.

Hiroki Yasumoto, who voiced the demon ogre “Hozuki”, returns to lead the show’s cast.

Aside from Hozuki’s Coolheadedness Season 2, Winter 2018 simulcast titles Record of Grancrest War and Darling in the Franxx will continue airing this season.
