Kazuma Sato is a hikikomori (shut-in) die-hard fan of games, anime, and manga. A traffic accident brings his disappointingly brief life to an end, or it should have, but he wakes up and sees a beautiful girl who introduces herself as a goddess. She asks him if he’d like to go to another world but he can only bring one thing with him. Kazumi chooses to bring the goddess. With that, he is transported to another world and his great adventure subjugating the demon king begins, but first the hard work of finding food, clothing, and shelter begins. Kazuma wants to live in peace, but the goddess raises one problem after another, and then the demon king’s army has its eyes set on him. (Synopsis from Anime News Network)

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o!, better known by its short title “KonoSuba”, is a Japanese novel series by Natsume Akatsuki, which was first published on the user-generated website Shosetsuka ni Naro from December 2012 to October 2013. The novel had a total of five (5) volumes.

The novel eventually was serialized into a light novel series, with illustrations by Kurone Mishima, which was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko magazine since October 2013. The light novel currently has 13 volumes.

The anime adaptation was directed by Takaomi Kanasaki, who also directed the second season of School Rumble, while The Heroic Legend of Arslan scriptwriter Makoto Uezu handled the scripts. Koichi Kikuta adapted Kurone Mishima’s original character designs, which was produced by Studio DEEN.

The first season of KonoSuba first premiered on Filipino language anime channel HEROtv in July 2017, while the second season premiered in October of the same year.

The anime channel was ceased its broadcast last February, which was then transformed into a “digital portal” by ABS-CBN Lifestyle the same month.

Jeepney TV relaunched the HERO Zone anime block earlier this month with New Initial D the Movie trilogy and Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V as its first offering. The anime block has announced several anime shows lined-up to air in the future, including the Makoto Shinkai’s top-grossing anime movie your name.
