Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced on Wednesday that the upcoming romantic drama anime Love and Lies will be airing on a simulcast basis starting next month.
The anime will premiere on July 4, airing Every Tuesday nights at 10:00pm (09:00pm JKT/BKK), within 24 hours after the Japanese telecast.
Lies are forbidden. Love is doubly forbidden. To tackle the low birth rate in Japan, young people are assigned their marriage partners by the government when they turn sixteen. Finding a suitable partner is no longer a hassle as the government pairs everyone up with highly compatible partners that would guarantee them eternal happiness. Living in such a world is fifteen-year-old Yukari Nejima, who tries to conceal his feelings for his classmate, Misaki Takazaki. (Synopsis from ANIMAX Asia)
Love and Lies (Koi to Uso) is an anime adaptation of a manga series by by Musawo, which is being published by Kodansha in Manga Box magazine since August 2014. The manga currently has six (6) volumes.
Poco’s Udon World director Seiki Takuno, scriptwriter Natsuko Takahashi, and character designer Eriko Ito reunites to work on the upcoming anime series, which will also be produced by Liden Films.
The Japanese voice cast will be lead by Kana Hanazawa (“Sae Fujiyama”, Poco’s Udon World) as “Misaki Takasaki”, Ryota Ohsaka (“Nagate Tanikaze”, Knights of Sidonia) as “Yukari Nejima”, Yui Makino (“Meiko Otsuka”, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) as “Ririna Sanada”.
Love and Lies will be the second simulcast title of ANIMAX, which will be joining the previously announced anime, Saiyuki Reload Blast.
