Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced on Wednesday that the upcoming anime series Saiyuki Reload Blast is set to air on a simulcast basis starting next month.

The anime will premiere on July 6, airing Every Wednesday nights at 08:00pm (07:00pm JKT), within 24 hours after the Japanese telecast. Encore presentation at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT).

Saiyuki Reload Blast is the 9th anime adaptation and 4th television anime adaptation of the popular manga series by Kazuya Minekura, which ran from 1997-2002. The upcoming anime’s story will be based on the 2009 manga with the same name, which is being serialized in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine.

Servamp director Hideaki Nakano and scriptwriter Kenji Konuta reunites to work on the upcoming anime series. Youko Satou, who worked in anime shows like Attack on Titan and Dogs & Scissors, will handle character designs, which will be produced by Platinum Vision.

This will be the first Saiyuki television anime series that will not be produced by Studio Pierrot.

 

The previous voice casts, Akira Ishida (as “Cho Hakkai”), Hiroaki Hirata (as “Sha Gojyo”), Soichiro Hoshi (as “Son Goku”), and Toshihiko Seki (as “Genjo Sanzo”), returned to portray the lead characters of the popular series.

They will be joined by new characters in the series, which will be voiced by Junichi Suwabe, Chiwa Saito, Yuuki Kaji, and several others.

 

Gensomaden Saiyuki first aired on entertainment channel AXN Asia in the late 2000s, while sister channel ANIMAX Asia first aired Saiyuki Reload and Saiyuki Reload Gunlock in 2005.

Terrestrial broadcaster GMA Network aired in Filipino dubbing Gensomaden Saiyuki in March 2006, Saiyuki Reload in May 2006, and Saiyuki Reload Gunlock in June 2006. The broadcaster re-aired the shows on the now-defunct sister channel Qtv Channel 11 a year later.
