Singapore-based licensor ODEX Pte. Ltd. announced on Friday that the Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale’s special “fan screening” in Manila has now been postponed to Saturday, April 29.
The special screening was initially scheduled for Saturday, April 22, same day with Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The licensor has cited “logistical difficulties” as the reason for the sudden postponement, but did not elaborate any specific reason.
The management has assured the Filipino movie goers that the premium items can be claimed on the new screening date.

As previously reported, ODEX has announced that there will be a special “fan screening” in four Southeast Asian countries, which was held simultaneously in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia on April 22.
The licensor explained that the difference of the special screening to the previous one is “… the latest movie version which have some parts re-drawn into High Res compared to the earlier General Release version.”
They also mentioned that the latest version will have Asuna’s full bathroom scene “not zoomed in.”
Attendees for the special screening will be given a special goodie bag, but it will be more loaded with seven (7) premiums items like postcards, an original light novel by Reki Kawahara and the film’s “official spoiler book”, which was given during its eight week screening in Japan, and seven (7) signature cards featuring the lead characters of the film.

Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale is an anime film adaptation of the highly-popular light novel series Sword Art Online, written by Reki Kawahara with illustrations by abec.
The novel is being published by ASCII Media Works since April 2009 under their Dengeki Bunko imprint, which currently has 19 volumes. After the release of its highly-popular anime series in 2012, the franchise has expanded to multiple novels, manga and video games.
The anime film is an original story that took place after the “Mother Rosario” arc (Sword Art Online II), which was written by Reki Kawahawa and directed by Tomohiko Ito. Character designs were made by Shingo Adachi for anime studio A-1 Pictures.
Popular anisong singer LiSA, who performed Sword Art Online’s anime theme music, sang the film’s theme music, “Catch the Moment”.
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (as Kirito), Haruka Tomatsu (as Asuna), Rina Hidaka (as Silica), Ayahi Takagaki (as Lisbeth), Miyuki Sawashiro (as Sinon), Hiroaki Hirata (as Klein) returned to voice their characters in the movie.
The film will also include three new characters voiced by Sayaka Kanda (as AR idol Yuna), Yoshio Inoue (as the mysterious young swordsman Eiji) and Takeshi Kaga (as Augma developer Professor Shigemura).
