Pan-regional anime channel ANIMAX Asia is set to premiere two simulcast titles for the Fall 2016 anime season, which are Flip Flappers and Poco’s Udon World.
Both titles will be airing the same day as Japan, which will be in Japanese Audio with Subtitles.
Cocona is an exemplary and studious second year middle school student who lives with her grandmother. Her life is turned upside down when she meets Papika, an unusual girl who is on the search for a mysterious crystal called the “Shard of Mimi”, which has the power to grant wishes.
Together, the girls embark on an adventure to a different realm known as the Pure Illusion, in search for the legendary crystal. However, they meet with many unexpected challenges at every turn. Can the girls stick together till the very end?
Flip Flappers is a sci-fi anime series produced by anime studio Studio 3Hz, which is directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama. Yuniko Ayana, who written the scripts for Kiniro Mosaic and several others, will be handling the series composition of the anime, while character designs are made by Takashi Kojima.
The Japanese voice cast are lead by M.A.O (“Mao Kurokawa”, Wakaba Girl) as “Papika” and Minami Takahashi (“Sora Kazesawa”, Aikatsu!) as “Cocona”.
Flip Flappers premiere on October 7, airing every Friday nights at 07:30pm SIN/PH (06:30pm JKT/BKK). Same day as Japan.
Poco’s Udon World
Sota Tawara lives and works in Tokyo as a web designer. His family runs an udon shop back home, where he returns upon the death of his father. While back at his hometown, he happens to open a cooking pot only to find a kid who is fast asleep inside.
At first glance, the kid looks like a normal human child. A closer look, however, reveals a raccoon dog that has transformed into a person!
Time goes by slowly in idyllic Kagawa Prefecture, fondly called “Udon Prefecture,” where the slightly awkward duo begins their heartwarming relationship under the same roof.
Poco’s Udon World is an anime adaptation of a manga series by Nodoka Shinomaru, which is being published in Shinchosha’s Monthly Comic @ Bunch magazine since August 2012. The manga currently has seven volumes.
The anime adaptation is being directed by Seiki Takuno, who also directed the popular comedy anime Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, while Say “I love you.” anime scriptwriter Natsuko Takahashi is handling the series composition of the anime.
Eriko Ito, who worked in titles like Hamatora, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches and Hanasaku Iroha, handled the show’s character designs, which is being produced by the anime studio Liden Films.
Poco’s Udon World premiere on October 9, airing every Sunday nights at 08:30pm SIN/PH (07:30pm JKT/BKK). Same day as Japan.
