The Southeast Asian video streaming service iFlix has added on Friday new anime titles on their streaming line-up, which was acquired from the Philippine-based licensor Telesuccess Productions.

The service has started streaming popular classic shows Voltes V, Daimos, Tenjou Tenge, as well as the anime adaptations of Hunter × Hunter and the first four seasons of Fairy Tail.

The titles are available exclusively in the Philippines, which can be viewed only in Filipino dubbing. Except for Voltes V, which is available in both English and Filipino dubbing.

A representative of the streaming service has told Anime Pilipinas that more titles from Telesuccess Productions would be added on their line-up soon.

 

Voltes V

Voltes V was first aired in the Philippines in 1979 on terrestrial network GMA Channel 7, but was pulled off-air the same year on orders by the Marcos administration together with 13 other robot shows for allegedly having themes that are “warlike in nature” and may create “unwholesome attitude among children toward violence.”

The anime series returned to television screens in 1986, after Marcos was ousted, which was then aired in multiple broadcasters like PTV-4, RPN-9 and IBC 13.

The popular program returned to its original broadcaster in January 1999, which was aired weekly in English dubbing. The Filipino dubbed version was first aired on the network in December 1999, which had been aired multiple times on the network.

Filipino-language anime channel HEROtv has aired the program in May 2006 under the title “Voltes V: Evolution, which was voiced by Filipino celebrities including actors Dennis Trillo, Michael de Mesa and the current K-pop group 2NE1 member Sandara Park.

 

Daimos

Tenjou Tenge

Tenjou Tenge first aired in the Philippines in June 2005 on terrestrial network GMA Channel 7 in Filipino dubbing, which was also aired late-nights on HEROtv in October 2006.

 

Hunter × Hunter

The first anime adaptation of Hunter × Hunter series was first aired in the Philippines in January 2002 on GMA Channel 7, which was dubbed in Filipino. The network eventually dubbed its original video animation (OVA), “Greed Island” and “Greed Island Final”, in 2003 and 2009 respectively.

The anime was also aired on HEROtv in December 2010, as well as the now-defunct entertainment channel TeleAsia Filipino in September 2014.

The second anime adaptation was first aired on ANIMAX Asia in April 2012 in Original Audio with English subtitles, while GMA Channel 7 aired in Filipino dubbing in September 2014.

 

Fairy Tail

The popular anime premiered in Filipino dubbing on GMA Channel 7 in October 2011, which was also aired on TeleAsia Filipino channel in August 2013.
