Pop-culture event organizer Cosplay.ph has released a statement on Friday saying that the anisong singer Shiena Nishizawa, who was scheduled to perform at the I Love Anisong concert at Cosplay Mania, is cancelling her appearance on the event.
She was set to perform on the second day on Sunday, October 2, together with the Japanese alternative rock band BACK-ON and the fantasy idol group Starmarie.
The statement comes after the organizer had uploaded a new cover photo for their Facebook page on Thursday, but did not include Nishizawa’s name, which lead to some speculation of a cancellation.
Cosplay.ph states that there are “management and label” decisions were made after deliberation, but did not fully elaborate on the matter.
The organizer added that they respect the decision of the management and they hope for her to perform on a future event.
Cosplay Mania ’16 is happening on October 1-2, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center – Manila, inside the Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
