Pan-regional anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced that an image refresh is set to happen on the channel on Monday, July 25.
According to the statement, the channel’s new look will be focusing on the tagline “It all starts with a stroke of Imagination. Re-create your World.”
ANIMAX Asia’s on-air mascot, featuring Oo-kun and Friends, will be retained and there will be a contest where viewers can create a brand new character as a part of “Oo-kun’s World”. More details will be announced in the coming weeks.
This will be the fourth image revamp of ANIMAX Asia since the channel was launched in January 2004, the latest happened in February 2013.
The channel’s current presentation has reverted the controversial revamp in 2010 which featured a new logo that was patterned from the now-defunct Latin American franchise of the channel and the addition of Korean programming in the line-up, which earned the ire of viewers from the Philippines and Malaysia.
