Philippine broadcaster GMA Network has announced in a teaser on Sunday that the anime adaptation of the popular franchise Yo-kai Watch is set to premiere on the channel this March.
The teaser does not indicate the date or time of the premiere, but it has provided a sample of the Filipino dubbing.
GMA-7 has also launched an official Facebook page for the program, which is the first time that the network has done for any Japanese anime show. You may like the official page at facebook.com/YoKaiWatchGMA.
Yo-kai Watch is an anime adaptation of a role-playing video game series developed by Nintendo and published by Level-5, which was first released for the Nintendo 3DS platform in Japan on July 2013 and North America last November. Aside from anime, the franchise also has several manga adaptations and even theatrical films.
It is being considered in Japan to be the biggest game franchise in Japan since the Pokémon game and media franchise.
The latest theatrical film, Yo-Kai Watch the Movie 2: King Enma and the Five stories, Nyan!, which was released last December even beat Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie in tickets sold and attendance.
Cartoon Network Asia and Toonami Asia has been airing the anime adaptation in English dubbing since last year.
