Japanese talent agency 81 Produce has announced on Monday that voice actress & singer Miyu Matsuki has died due to an undisclosed illness on Tuesday, October 27. She was 38 years old.

It is not known if her passing was related to Acute Pneumonia, which was the reason for her hiatus since July. She was receiving treatment after experiencing a fever that would not recede, and discovered the illness after multiple hospital check-ups.

Miyu Matsuki was known for portraying characters including “Yoriko Sagisawa” in D.C. ~Da Capo~, “Isumi Saginomiya” in Hayate the Combat Butler series, “Harumi Fujiyoshi” in Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei series, “Yoshinoya-sensei” in Hidamari Sketch series, “Ku-ko” in Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, and more recently, “Magical Sapphire” in Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya series & “Anna Nishikinomiya” in  SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist.

She also performed theme songs for Love Love?, Zoku Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei and Haiyore! Nyaruko-san.

Matsuki’s very last post on her blog was on September 14, her 38th birthday, which she said “If I can get better, I want to get married.”
