HEROtv announces Program Line-up for Q4 2015

Bodacious Space Pirates and Chaika: The Coffin Princess set to premiere this November.

Filipino-language anime channel HEROtv has announced in a television advertisement the channel’s anime line-up for the 4th quarter of 2015.

New titles included in the advertisement are Bodacious Space Pirates, Chaika: The Coffin Princess and Initial D: Fifth Stage, as well as new episodes of Code Geass: Akito the Exile, Kuroko’s Basketball and Free.

The anime movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ is also set to premiere within the year.

 

Anime Pilipinas has also learned that anime titles Bodacious Space Pirates, Chaika: The Coffin Princess and Code Geass: Akito the Exile OVA 4 are set to premiere this November.

Marika is a first year high school student living on a planet known as Uminoakeboshi. One day she finds out that her recently deceased father was once the captain of the space pirate ship called the “Bentenmaru”. Bodacious Space Pirates is the first anime adaptation of a Japanese light novel series, which is written by Yuichi Sasamoto with illustrations by Noriyuki Matsumoto. The light novel is being published by Asahi Shimbun under the Asahi Shimbun Shuppan imprint since October 2008, which currently has 12 volumes.

The anime adaptation is directed by Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne director Tatsuo Sato, who is also the scriptwriter for the series. Hiroshi Takeuchi, who was the animation director of InuYasha, is the chief animation director for the anime, which was produced by anime studio Satelight.

Bodacious Space Pirates is set to premiere on Monday, November 9.

Toru Acura is a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life now that the war has ended. He encounters Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin, and follows her in hopes of finding meaning to his life again. Chaika: The Coffin Princess is an anime adaptation of a Japanese light novel series, which was written by Ichiro Sakaki with illustrations by Namaniku ATK. The light novel series was published by Fujimi Shobo under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint from December 2010 to March 2015, which has a total of 12 volumes.

The anime adaptation was directed by Soichi Masui, who also directed the 2003 anime series Scrapped Princess, while Touko Machida, who also worked for Amagami SS and Akame ga Kill, handled the scripts. Nobuhiro Arai adapted Namaniku ATK’s character designs, which was produced by anime studio BONES.

Chaika: The Coffin Princess is set to premiere on Monday, November 16.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is an original video animation (OVA) series, which was adapted from the highly-popular anime franchise Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. The series is directed by Kazuki Akane, which was produced by anime studio Sunrise.

The fourth episode, “Nikushimi no Kioku Kara” (From the Memories of Hatred), premiered in Japanese theaters last July 4. The fifth and last episode is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on February 6, 2016.

HEROtv has aired the previous episodes of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled in September 7 (OVA 1), September 21 (OVA 2) last year and last August 16 (OVA 3). The anime channel has previously scheduled to air the episode this month, but was postponed due to technical difficulties.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled – OVA 4 is set to premiere on Sunday, November 15.
