Japanese anisong artist Eir Aoi has revealed on her website Monday that she had been diagnosed with Aspiration Pneumonia, a type of bronchopneumonia or lung inflammation caused by inhaling “foreign objects”.
She was scheduled to perform at the Animelo Summer Live 2015 -GATE- event at the Saitama Super Arena on Saturday, August 29, but cancelled her appearance at the last minute with little explanation.
According to the blogpost, she was hospitalized on the early hours of August 29 due to “poor health”. The doctors have determined that she cannot sing, which lead to the cancellation.
The singer also apologized for not appearing on the event, and has thanked her fans for worrying & their continued support.
Eir has since recovered from her illness and would make her appearances as scheduled. She is set to appear at the KITAMAE Sapporo Manga and Anime Festival on Saturday, September 12.
She is also set to perform in the Philippines for the first time at The Best of Anime 2015 on Sunday, September 20 at the SMX Convention Center – Manila in Pasay City.
