Local events organizer Cosplay.ph has announced on Facebook their initial cosplayer guests for their flagship event, Cosplay Mania ’15, which is set to happen this October.
International cosplay personalities set to attend the event are Cosplay Mania regulars Reika and KANAME☆, and first-time attendees like the cosplay duo Baozi & Hana and Ladybeard.
Reika and KANAME☆ first visited the country in 2012 for Cosplay Mania ’12, where both became judges of that year’s Cosplay Tournament of Champions (ToRCh) that sent “Adventure Team” to the Anime Festival Asia’s Asian Regional Cosplay Championship (ARCC).
Reika returned to the country four (4) times, the first one is for University of the Philippines Anime Manga Enthusiast (UP AME) event “AME 1UP” in February, after that was an event in Cebu City, and returned again for Cosplay Mania in 2013 and 2014. This will be Reika’s third time attending the highly-popular cosplay event, and the fifth time visiting the Philippines in general.
KANAME☆ will be returning to the event for four (4) consecutive times as he also became one of the special guests in 2013 and 2014.
Baozi & Hana are popular cosplay duo from China, who are currently studying in Singapore, but aside from portraying anime characters, Baozi does the make-up for the duo while Hana is more into props-making.
They have also been featured in Cosplay magazines, as well as judging cosplay events in their country and elsewhere.
Ladybeard is an Aussie-born cross-dresser, currently based in Japan where he became an internet sensation. He is also a popular wrestler, as well as a musician performing heavy-metal renditions of J-pop songs.
Cosplay Mania 15 is happening this October 3-4, 2015 at Function Rooms 2-5 and Meeting Rooms 2-7 of SMX Convention Center – Manila at the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City. Organized by Cosplay.ph.
