Written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, the manga series Attack on Titan takes us to a world where bizarre, gigantic humanoid creatures have killed most of mankind. For the past century, survivors have been hiding in a city surrounded by enormous walls, but the time has come when they are no longer safe. Titans invade the hometown of Eren Yeager, and his mother becomes one of the casualties. Vowing to take revenge, Eren enlists in the military to fight the Titans, accompanied by his adopted sister Mikasa Ackerman and their childhood friend Armin Arlert. As the story progresses, the truth behind the origin of the Titans is revealed, and Eren makes an astounding discovery about himself.
