North American anime distributor Aniplex of America has announced during their Aniplex Live Show on Wednesday that they have acquired DURARARA!! x2, the sequel to the popular supernatural action anime Durarara!!
The first of the three (3) installment of the series will be seen for North American internet users online at Hulu and Crunchyroll starting January of next year. More details about the premiere date and time will be announced in the coming days.

DURARARA!! x2 is the second anime adaptation of a Japanese light novel series written by Ryohgo Narita, with illustrations by Suzuhito Yasuda. The first light novel was serialized on ASCII Media Work imprint Dengeki Bunko from April 2004 to January 2014, while a second novel, titled Durarara!! SH, started last April.
Half a year after the turmoil that rocked the entire city of Ikebukuro— Peace has once again returned to the city and people are living each day normally. The high school students enjoy their days of youth as the strongest and most dangerous man of Ikebukuro works diligently. The informant plots a new scheme and the headless rider is pursued by the cops as she rides through the night…But soon this normal will be cut short by the abnormal. Director Takahiro Omori and Screenwriter Noboru Takagi returns to work on the second adaptation, while the production will now be handled by Studio Shuka. The anime will have three installments with 13 episodes each, where the first will premiere in January 2015, while the second airs in July 2015, and the last installment will air in January 2016.
The cast are once again lead by Miyuki Sawashiro as Celty Sturluson, and Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Mikado Ryuugamine.
