SM Cinema has revealed on its Facebook and Twitter accounts that it will exclusively screen the upcoming anime film The Last: Naruto the Movie starting Wednesday, December 17.
SM Cinema tells Anime Pilipinas that most of its branches will show The Last: Naruto the Movie, but its screening will only last for a week as it will give way to the Metro Manila Film Festival on Thursday, December 25.
The movie, which is locally distributed by Pioneer Films (Movie Punch), premieres just 11 days after it hits theaters in Japan on Thursday, December 06.

The storyline for the film is said to be in between chapters 699-700 of the Naruto manga series which ended its run last November 10, and features some significant changes in the design of the major characters.
Tsuneo Kobayashi, who also directed Emma: A Victorian Romance, directs the upcoming movie, while Kyozuka Maruo handles its screenplay. Hirofumi Suzuki and Tetsuya Nishio, who handled character designs for the Naruto series, as well as creator Masashi Kishimoto handles the movie’s characters.
Sukima Switch, who sung Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood’s third opening theme song, will be singing the main theme song of the movie, “Hoshi no Utsuwa”.
Junko Takeuchi (as Naruto Uzumaki) and Nana Mizuki (as Hinata Hyuuga) returns to lead the voice casts of the final movie.
