Filipino-language Asian entertainment channel TeleAsia Filipino has announced that both first and second seasons of the highly-popular moe comedy anime K-ON! is set to premiere this October.

The channel also announced that it is set to premiere Bakugan Battle Brawlers’ first sequel Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia this month.

It’s Yui Hirasawa’s first year in high school, and she’s eagerly searching for a club to join. At the same time, Ritsu Tainaka, a drummer, and her friend Mio Akiyama, a bassist, are desperately trying to save the school’s light music club, which is about to be disbanded due to lack of members. They manage to recruit Tsumugi Kotobuki to play the keyboard, meaning they only need one more member to get the club running again. Yui joins, thinking it will be an easy experience for her to play the castanets, the only instrument she knows. K-ON! is a Japanese anime adaptation of a four-panel comic strip manga, written & illustrated by Kakifly, which was serialized in Houbunsha’s seinen manga magazines Manga Time Kirara from May 2007 to October 2010 and Manga Time Kirara Carat from April 2011 to June 2012.

The two anime adaptations was directed by Naoko Yamada, who worked on popular titles like CLANNAD and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and scripts were written by Reiko Yoshida, who also handled scripts for Maria Watches Over Us, and produced by Kyoto Animation.

The cast are lead by Aki Toyosaki as Yui Hirasawa, Youko Hikasa as Mio Akiyama, Satomi Satou as Ritsu Tainaka, Minako Kotobuki as Tsumugi Kotobuki, and Ayana Taketatsu as Azusa Nakano.

 

The first season of K-ON! premieres on Friday, October 10, airing Daily at 06:00pm with repeats at 12:00am, 06:00pm and 12:00pm. Meanwhile, the second season premieres on Friday, October 24, airing Daily at 06:00pm with repeats at 12:00am, 06:00pm and 12:00pm.

Drago returns to Earth with a new ally named Mira. The five original Bakugan that helped restore order to New Vestroia have been captured, Drago is now being targeted, and a group of humans known as the Vexos are taking over New Vestroia. Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia is the second season of the Joint Japanese-Canadian animated series, produced by TMS Entertainment together with Sega Toys.

Director Mitsuo Hashimoto returns to direct the second season, together with Scriptwriter Atsushi Maekawa.

The cast are lead by Keiji Fujiwara (Maes Hughes, Fullmetal Alchemist) as Drago and Yu Kobayashi (Setsuna Sakurazaki, Negima! series) as Danma “Dan” Kusou.

This action-action adventure anime was previously aired on terrestrial network GMA Channel 07 from December 2010 to April 2011 and on Cartoon Network PhilippinesToonami Asia in subsequent years.

 

Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia premieres on Monday, October 20, airing Daily at 05:30pm with repeats at 11:30pm, 05:30am and 11:30am.
