Cosplay.ph, the organizers of Cosplay Mania 14: Evolution, has announced on their Facebook page on Saturday that noted American Cosplayer, model and costume designer Linda Le, commonly known in the cosplay scene as VAMPY BIT ME.
The San Francisco-based cosplayer has done characters ranging from Darkstalkers, the X-MEN franchise, Gantz and Neon Genesis Evangelion, to name a few.
She has been a staple of leading American anime and pop culture conventions like the San Diego Comic Convention – International, the Anime Expo event in Dallas, and Katsucon, among other events.
Le went to London and Japan to further educate in the studies of costume and fashion design. After making an impression in the cosplay scene with her portrayals of anime and video game characters, she was discovered by the Japanese toy company Kotobukiya and was featured in the cosplay book Otacool 2.
She has recently collaborated with AMC’s Talking Dead host and Nerdist Podcast’s Chris Hardwick in producing a show about cosplay named “Just Cos”, which features cosplayers and their stories.
She will be joining other first-time Manila visitors Tatsumi Inui of curecosplay.net and Cosplay Mania J.A.M. (Japanese Anime Music) artist Aya Ikeda. The other announced guests include Orochi-X, Reika, Pinky Lu Xun, Jesuke, and Vic Kumiko.
In line her visit, Cosplay.ph also posted details regarding her Meet-and-greet session on their website.
She will hold two (2) meet-and-greet sessions on the event’s first day on Saturday, October 04. The two sessions will be held at 10:00am and 02:00pm.
The tickets cost PhP700 (estimated USD16.11) per session, on-top of the regular admission prices ranging from PhP150 (estimated USD3.45) to PhP400 (estimated USD9.20). The meet and greet tickets will be available starting August 06 at All SM Tickets Outlets nationwide and is limited to 100 tickets per session.
Cosplay Mania ’14: Evolution happens on October 04-05 at Function Rooms 3-5 of the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
