Following previous announcements of acquiring Yu-Shibu, Akame ga Kill, and six other titles.


North American anime licensor Sentai Filmworks has announced on Thursday (Philippine Time) that they have acquired the Fantasy anime Chaika – The Coffin Princess, as well as the Romantic-comedy anime My mental choices are completely interfering with my school romantic comedy.

The announcement follows the licensor’s previous acquisition of the 2013 romantic-comedy anime I couldn’t become a hero, so I reluctantly decided to get a job., as well as seven (7) summer 2014 titles including Akame ga Kill, Glasslip and Argevollen.

Toru Acura is a 20-year-old retired soldier meandering through life now that the war has ended. He encounters Chaika Trabant, a 14-year-old sorceress carrying a coffin, and follows her in hopes of finding meaning to his life again. Chaika – the Coffin Princess, also known by the title Hitsugi no Chaika, is a Japanese anime adaptation of a light novel series written by Ichirou Sakaki and illustrated by Namaniku ATK. The novel is serialized by Fujimi Shobo under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint since 2010, and currently has nine (9) volumes.

The anime is lead by Chika Anzai (Suzu Shutou, Riddle Story of the Devil) as Chaika Trabant, Junji Miyama (Ryuji Takasu, Toradora!) as Tohru Acura, and Yuko Hara as Akari Acura.

The 12-episode adaptation was directed by Soichi Masui, who also handled the storyboard for Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie – Conqueror of Shamballa, while Tears to Tiara scriptwriter Touko Machida supervised the scripts, and Character designs who made by Nobuhiro Arai. It is produced by the anime studio BONES.

The anime is set to have a second season, which is set to premiere in October, and the cast & staff are expected to return.

Kanade Amakusa is a high school student who is suffering from a curse called “Absolute Choices.” This curse requires him to select an action from a list of two or three options that appear before him at any time, and has no control over what choices appear. Many of them are weird or perverse and as a result, the curse has tainted his reputation with his classmates and other people around him, making his life very difficult. My Mental Choices are Completely Interfering with My School Romantic Comedy, better known by the title NouCome, is a Japanese anime adaptation of a light novel series, which was written by Takeru Kasukabe and illustrations by Yukiwo. It serialized by Kadokawa Shoten under Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint since February 2012, and currently has eight (8) volumes.

The anime adaptation is lead by Kaori Sadohara (Tamae Okamine, Date A Live series) as Chocolat, and Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Mikado Ryuugamine, Durarara!) as Kanade Amakusa.

The 12-episode series was directed by Takayuki Inagaki, who also directed Rosario + Vampire series, while Jewelpet scriptwriter Hiroko Kasunagi also worked on the series. Hiroyuki Saida, who worked on titles like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Puella Magi Madoka Magica, handled character designs. The series was produced by the anime studio Diomedea.

 

Similar to previous announcements, the titles are set to be released through digital outlets soon, while its home video release will be announced in the coming days.
