Anime channel also set to have a Season 1 marathon on July 5th.
Pan-regional anime channel ANIMAX Asia has officially announced on Sunday that the sci-fi comedy anime Space Dandy is set to return with the simulcast airing of the Second season on Sunday, July 06, at 10:00pm (PHT).
The second season is the continuation of the antics of Space Dandy, a carefree space explorer and his two sidekicks – a rundown robot named QT and Meow the cat-looking space alien, as they travel the galaxy in search of new aliens. Each new species that Dandy discovers earns him a hefty reward but he has to be quick on his feet because it’s first come – first served!
In the Philippines, the first season was previously aired in Original English Audio, provided by FUNimation Entertainment, while other Southeast Asian countries has the option to choose their preferred Audio & Subtitle language. The same is expected for the new season.
Before the premiere of the second season, ANIMAX Asia is also set to have a marathon of the first season on Saturday, July 05, from 08:30pm to 01:30pm (PHT).
The cast of the anime series, Junichi Suwabe as Dandy, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Meow and Uki Satake as QT, as well as the staff, Chief Director Shinichiro Watanabe, Director-in-charge Shingo Natsume and Character designer Yoshiyuki Ito, are set to return for Space Dandy season 2.
North American anime licensor FUNimation Entertainment has earlier announced that it has licensed the second season, and is set to air on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in the United States on Saturday, July 05, which is almost a day earlier than the Japanese telecast.
