Tournament legs to start in Naga on July 05, ends in Manila on September 27.
Events organizer Cosplay.ph has released the dates for the upcoming 5th Cosplay Tournament of Champions, their nationwide qualifier event for the Philippine representative for the AFA Regional Cosplay Championships (ARCC).
According to the announcement posted on their Facebook page, The first leg of the search begins in the Bicol Region on July 05 at SM City Naga, then shifts to the Central Visayas region on July 20 at SM City Consolacion, Cebu before going back into the Southern Luzon region on July 26 at the SM City Dasmarinas.
North Luzon qualifiers will be held on August 09 at the SM City Baguio, while the Northern Mega Manila qualifiers will be held at the SM City North EDSA Annex Cyberzone Atrium.
The battle shifts to Mindanao on August 30 and September 06, when SM City General Santos and SM Lanang Premier holds their qualifiers for Central Mindanao and Southern Mindanao, respectively, before wrapping up on September 27 at the SM City Manila Cyberzone Events Center for the Central/South Metro qualifiers.
The winners of each qualifying leg will advance to the Finals of the Cosplay Tournament of Champions 2014, to be held on Cosplay Mania 14‘s Second day on October 05 at the SMX Convention Center-Manila in Pasay.
The winners will be the official Philippine representatives to the 2014 AFA Regional Cosplay Championships, to be held on Anime Festival Asia 2014 in Suntec City, Singapore in December.
This year’s TORCH, which is subtitled as “World Class“, is the first to introduce a new concept where in “mentors” will coach the competitors towards all aspects of their journey until the AFA Regional Cosplay Championships.
The mentors, which include some TORCH Alumni, include Guy Singzon, Domingo Ong and Marko Villaluz (of Adventure Team), Zenon Hernandez (of Team Purple Flurp) and Amado Carl Hernandez (of Team March).
