New Sailor Moon series set to premiere on July 05 on Nico Nico Douga and Crunchyroll.


The official website of the highly-popular Sailormoon franchise has released its first trailer video for its newest anime adaptation, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal is the newest anime adaptation of the highly-popular anime franchise.

The anime is set to have 26 episodes and will air twice per month for one year, which will be the First and Third Saturdays of the month.

It is set to premiere on Saturday, July 05, at 07:00pm JST (06:00pm PHT) on the online streaming sites Crunchyroll for North American users and Nico Nico Douga.

 

The original Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon seiyuu Kotono Mitsushi will reprise her role on the new series, and she will be joined by Hisako Kanemoto as Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury, Rina Satou as Rei Hino/Sailor Mars, Ami Koshimizu as Makoto Kino/Sailor Jupiter, and Shizuka Itou as Minako Aino/Sailor Venus.

Munehisa Sakai, who directed several episodes of the hit anime One Piece, as well as its 10th movie adaptation One Piece: String World, will direct the new anime series, while Smile Precure scriptwriter Yuuji Kobayashi will supervise the scripts.

Yukie Sako, who worked on titles like Blue Exorcist, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Nyan Koi!, handles character designs, and Gatchaman Crowd’s  Takashi Kurahashi and Yumi Hosaka will be the art director for the project.

The Japanese idol group Momoiro Clover Z will perform the theme song, and King Records will produce the soundtrack.

 

A survey conducted by the Japanese wiki-encyclopedia Charapedia shows that Sailor Moon Crystal is Top 07 out of the 20 Most Anticipated Anime titles of Summer 2014.

The survey also shows that the anime lists as One of the Most anticipated titles by both Male and Female.
