Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge television premiere banners Marathon
Pan-regional anime channel ANIMAX Asia is set to hold a movie marathon this Weekend, from the evening of June 7th until the early morning of June 8th.
The television premiere of Hunter × Hunter’s first movie adaptation, Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge will lead the movie marathon this Saturday.

In this anime feature film, Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio reunite to face a dangerous individual who is once a member of their greatest enemies, the criminal organization “Phantom Troupe”. It centers on Gon and his friends’ efforts to retrieve Kurapika’s eyes which were stolen by Omokage, the original person with the No. 4 spider tattoo.
Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge is the first movie adaptation based on the popular anime franchise, produced by anime studio Madhouse. The movie was directed by Yuzo Sato, who also directed several Naruto Shippuden movies & the Magical Warfare series, and screenplay was written by Shoji Yonemura, who is also the scriptwriter on several Pokémon anime series & Death Note.
The movie premiered in Japan on January 12, 2013, which earned US$12,595,288 (about PhP553 million) for six (6) weeks. It also premiered in selected cinemas in the Philippines on May 15, 2013, through Pioneer Films (Movie Punch), which earned US$74,118 (over PhP3,250,000).
Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge will have its television premiere on Saturday, June 07, at 08:30pm.

Four (4) more anime movie titles are also set to return this Weekend on ANIMAX, which will make-up the channel’s late-night and early-morning schedule.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos airs on Sunday, June 08, at 12:30am.
Hayate the Combat Butler: Heaven is a Place on Earth airs on June 08, Sunday, at 02:30am.
FAFNER: Dead Aggressor – Heaven and Earth airs on Sunday, June 08, at 04:00am.
The channel also urge its viewers to interact while watching the movie marathon on Twitter, by using the hashtag #AnimaxMarathon.
The ANIMAX Movie Marathon is an addition to the channel’s “Jumbo June” line-up which features the premiere of Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions!, Beyond the Boundary, and The “Hentai” Prince and the Stony Cat.
