The film distributor also says that Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire will hit local theaters on August 20, while Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend will premiere on September 24.
For perspective, the sequels will each premiere in Japan on August 1 and September 13, respectively.
There is no word yet on whether any major cinema chain will exclusively screen the film, but SM Cinema shared Warner Bros.‘ announcement on its own Facebook page with no additional details.
The first Rurouni Kenshin film was locally distributed by Pioneer Films (Movie Punch) and premiered exclusively on SM Cinema on December 5, 2012.
It went on to earn more than PhP 26 million in the local box office, thus becoming the highest-grossing Japanese non-horror film in the Philippines.
