One-half of the popular singing duo to leave after the release of the third album next month.

The popular music duo ClariS has announced on their website on Monday that Alice, which is one-half of the duo, is set to “graduate” in order to concentrate on her studies.

The announcement, which was also posted on their Facebook page, also says that she will be leaving after the release of their third album, PARTY TIME, on June 04.

The statement mentioned that “ClariS is now preparing its next stage”, and asked its fans to continue supporting the unit.

There has been no mention about Clara, the other half of the singing duo.

ClariS is a singing group composed of two (2) high-school girls who gained popularity through the video-sharing website Nico Nico Douga as “Alice☆Clara” (アリス☆クララ) in 2009, and had changed their name to “ClariS” in 2010.

On their music videos, the duo are usually shown as illustrations because they are still pursuing high-school studies (as of 2012) and would not want to reveal their identities.

The duo is popular for singing theme songs for popular anime titles like Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Nisemonogatari, and more recently, Nisekoi.
