Spinoff OVA also set to be in the works.

All six animated films of Break Blade (promoted in English as Broken Blade) will be recompiled into a 12-episode TV anime series with new scenes thrown into the mix, together with an OVA with an-all original story.

The newly animated scenes will include “the battle to the death between the gifted warrior Girge and the specially selected Spartan robot unit”. All of the original movies’ cast will reprise their roles for the anime series, which will be aired on Japanese television stations Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11.

The Broken Blade movies are based from the mecha-themed manga series of the same name created by Yunoskue Yoshinaga, and were originally screened in Japan from May 2010 to March 2011.

Tetsuro Amino, who directed anime title like Shiki and Macross 7, is the chief director of the anime movie, while D.N.Angel director Nobuyoshi was the director in-charge, and Takushige Norita, who worked on the anime Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne, handled character designs.

The said movies also premiered on the Filipino-language anime channel HEROtv on August 2011, in Original Japanese audio with Filipino subtitles.
