(January 6, 2013) – Crunchyroll, Inc., has acquired the anime series Sakura Trick as part of its winter simulcasts, and is set to broadcast every Friday starting on January 10, at 9:00a.m. Pacific Time for its premium members, with free members able to watch one week later. Based off of a 4-panel yuri manga written and illustrated by Tachi, Sakura Trick focuses on two girls Haruka Takayama and Yuu Sonoda, who were inseparable during junior high. However, as they entered high school, they end up being seated on opposite sides of the room. Having to spend time with more friends, the two girls decide to do something to make their relationship special.
Popular voice actress Haruka Tomatsu, whose other notable roles include Asuna from Sword Art Online and Shizuku Mizutani from My Little Monsters, stars as Haruka, and Yuka Iguchi, also known for her roles as Mako Reizei from GIRLS und PANZER and Tsukihi Araragi from Nisemonogatari, plays Yuu. Studio DEEN, known for Rurouni Kenshin and Fate/stay night, will be handling the animation production.
