Following the premiere of the highly-popular anime series Attack on Titan last December, the Southeast Asian anime channel Aniplus Asia is set to air this month.

The superhero-themed comedy-drama anime is set to premiere on January 16 (Thursday), airing Every Thursday & Friday nights at 10:00pm SGT (09:00pm JKT), with an encore telecast Every Saturday & Sunday nights at 08:30pm.

Male model Hazama decides to become a superhero, despite having no superpowers or the technology to create a high-­‐powered suit. He becomes the hero, Samurai Flamenco and begins to fight crime in the name of justice.Police officer Goto finds out the real identity of Samurai Flamenco by a twist of fate, which leads to him getting involved into lots of trouble. Nonetheless, these two young men will come face to face with hardships of being crime-fighters while discovering what it truly means to be a hero of justice. (Synopsis provided by Aniplus Asia)

Samurai Flamenco is an anime series produced by anime studio manglobe, and is directed by Takahiro Omori, who also directed anime titles like Hell Girl and Durarara!!, and scripts are written by Hideyuki Kurata, who also handled scripts for Oreimo and The World God Only Knows. Character designs are developed by Chinatsu Kurahana, who also created the designs for the manga Uta no Prince-sama.

The anime first aired in Japanese station Fuji TV’s noitaminA block October last year, and is set to have 22 episodes.

Aside from the simulcast airing of Samurai Flamenco, Aniplus Asia continues the action, following Eren Yeager and Mika Akkaman on Attack on Titan, airing Every Friday nights at 12:00am SGT (Every Thursday nights at 11:00pm JKT), as well as the cute detectives at Detective Opera Milky Holmes – Season 2, airing Every Friday nights 11:00pm SGT (10:00PM JKT).

According to Aniplus Asia, they plan to add more anime titles, simulcasting with Japan, every week throughout the year. They also hope that they will be available in other markets, including the Philippines, this year.
