Pan-regional anime channel ANIMAX Asia is set to premiere the upcoming anime shows Gabriel Dropout and BanG Dream! in a simulcast basis starting this January, Anime Pilipinas has learned.

The two simulcast titles will be in addition to Re: ZERO –Starting Life in Another World–, Handa-kun and Fairy Tail’s sixth season, which will also premiere next month.

As she is at the top of her class in angel school, Gabriel descends to the human world with the goal of making humans happy. However, she soon becomes overly influenced by the ways of the human world and ends up living a self-indulgent life obsessing over online games and skipping school all the time. With Gabriel feeling comfortable with her current lazy and sloppy self, what sort of situation will she find herself in when other angels, and even devils, descend to Earth?

Gabriel Dropout is an anime adaptation based on the manga written and illustrated by Ukami, which is being published by Kadokawa’s ASCII Media Works in Dengeki Daioh G magazine since December 2013. The manga currently has three (3) volumes.

Minami-ke and Himouto! Umaruchan director Masahiko Ohka and scriptwriter Takashi Aoshima reunites to work on the upcoming anime adaptation, while Katsuhiro Kumagai, who worked in titles like A Certain Scientific Railgun S and Samurai Flamenco, will handle character designs. The anime will be produced by Doga Kobo.

Miyu Tomita, who portrayed “Yume Nijino” in Aikatsu Stars! television and movie adaptations, will portray the lead character “Gabriel White Tenma”.

Gabriel Dropout premieres on January 9, Every Monday nights at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT/BKK), airing same day as Japan. Encore telecast on Saturdays at 09:30pm (08:30pm JKT/BKK).

On her first day of high school, Kasumi Toyama is drawn to a star-shaped guitar that she comes across at a secondhand store and purchases it spontaneously as she has always felt the need to search for something that shines. Together with four other girls who share the same passion as her, they form an all-girl rock band. Follow them on their musical journey as they search for that unique sound that will make them shine!

BanG Dream! is a Japanese media franchise project created by game studio Bushiroad in January 2015, which consist of the musical group “Poppin’ Party” formed in February of the same year. The franchise has published three manga series since 2015, while girl group has released three singles and will be having their third live performance in February 2017.

The upcoming anime will be directed by Atsushi Ootsuki, who also directed the second season of Working!!, while Kin-iro Mosaic scriptwriter Yuniko Ayana handles the series composition. Character designs will be made by Matsuko Nitta, which will be produced by ISSEN and Xebec.

The Japanese voice cast will be Aimi (“Sherry”, Plastic Memories) as “Kasumi Toyama”, Ayaka Ohashi (“Uzuki Shimamura”, The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls) as “Saaya Yamabuki”, Ayasa Ito (“Alice Myojingawa”, Futari wa Milki Holmes) as “Arisa Ichigaya”, Rimi Nishimoto as “Rimi Ushigome” and Sae Ootsuka as “Tae Hanazono”.

BanG Dream! premieres on January 22, Every Sunday nights at 08:30pm (07:30pm JKT/BKK), airing same day as Japan. Encore telecast on Saturdays at 06:00pm (05:00pm JKT/BKK).
