Pan-regional anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced that Danganronpa: The Animation and the second season of Kamisama Kiss are set to premiere on the channel this month.

Makoto Naegi, an ordinary high school student, hits the jackpot when he gains admission into the prestigious Hope’s Peak Academy which is only open to prodigies. However, little does he realise that this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is actually a one-way ticket to despair. It turns out that in order to graduate, he will have to kill one of his fellow classmates…

Danganronpa: The Animation is an anime adaptation of the Danganronpa video game franchise, which was created & developed by Spike Chunsoft for Sony PlayStation gaming consoles and through iOS & Android app.

The anime adaptation was directed by Seiji Kishi and series composition by Makoto Uezu, who both worked in the same roles on the popular action anime Arpeggio of Blue Steel. Kazukai Morita adapted the character designs of Rui Komatsuzaki of Spike Chunsoft, which was produced by anime studio Lerche.

The Japanese voice cast were lead by Megumi Ogata (“Shinji Ikari”, Evangelion franchise) as Makoto Naegi, and Nobuyo Oyama (“Doraemon”, Doraemon franchise) as Monokuma.

Danganronpa: The Animation premieres on Monday, November 16, airing two episodes back-to-back every Monday and Tuesday nights at 10:00pm MNL/SG (09:00pm JKT/BKK).

Despite being a high school student, Nanami continues her duties as the god of the Mikage Shrine. One day, the wind god Otohiko brings to her an invitation to the annual meeting of the gods in Izumo. Thinking that she might be able to find Mikage, the former god of her shrine, she decides to attend the meeting. However, she will have to undergo a certain test in order to join the meeting…

Akitaro Daichi reprised his role as both director and scriptwriter for the second season, while Junko Yamanaka will again handle character designs and the chief animation director, which was produced by TMS Entertainment.

Japanese voice cast are lead by Suzuko Mimori (“Umi Sonoda”, Love Live! School idol project) as Nanami Momozono, and Shinnosuke Tachibana (“Nils Nielsen”, Gundam Build Fighters) as Tomoe.

Kamisama Kiss – Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, November 18, at 08:30pm PHT/SG (07:30pm JKT/BKK). Following episodes air two episodes back-to-back every Wednesday and Thursday nights at 08:00pm PHT/SG (07:00pm JKT/BKK).

 

The simulcast airing of K: Return of Kings continues, as the battle heats up between kingdoms with new enemies. New episode airs within 24 hours after the Japanese broadcast every Saturday nights at 11:00pm PHT/SG (10:00pm JKT/BKK).
